A young girl turns to nature, and memories of her garden, to overcome the aura of loss that pervades her home.
Our entry for “The Boss” Reed Film Competition 2012.
Really enjoyed working on this project and hopefully we do well. Enjoy!
This is a short film I recorded and edited the ADR for a while back. It’s screening at the Green Bay Film Festival in Wisconsin on the 24th of March, so have a watch and support however you can! It’s a great short with a powerful message - not for the faint of heart. Enjoy!
Was put onto look at this by a friend of mine the other day. It’s pretty damn interesting when you listen with headphones on. They’re comparing it to a shotgun (which isn’t a great thing to compare it to), but either way the results kinda speak for themselves. Would like to compare it to a decent stereo pair to see how it’s engineered to create the “3D” sound they’re going on about, but until I can find the $1000 or so that it costs, I’ll just have to be content with this video.

And here it is, the wait is over! This is a film I shot with Blue Robot Films, directed by Dave Spikey. Recorded the locations sound and did sound design on this, in only 3 nights I might add, and it went on to win the Audience Award at the COFILMIC 2011 awards! The story follows three hapless lads living in Cumbria who, frustrated by the lack of opportunity, embark on a series of hairbrained schemes to make some quick cash.
Was a real pleasure to work on, great cast and crew, and definitely a couple of days of fun on set! Enjoy it!
Interview with one of the greats, Randy Thom. Such a humble guy but some great insights into some of the techniques and approaches he takes towards sound design. I love how he only mixes with a mouse… who needs a D-CTRL?? Really agree with his bit on dynamics too, there needs to be a balance to keep interest in every story! Enjoy ;-)
